AT SCHOOLS

OUR CHILDREN MATTER

At schools we offer training in three parts.

Our objective is to educate and empower teachers, peers and parents in understanding those that are different, what their experiences are like and what their needs are and how you can support them. We want to create and encourage a culture of freedom, support and safety through understanding and compassion.

We want all children to feel safe, included, loved and understood.

TRAINING FOR STAFF

We offer a two hour training session to the staff which is educational and informative. We understand how complicated and confusing things can be in today's climate where we recognize even more diversity than ever before.

We strive to help staff to navigate unknown or not fully understood territory and to understand the challenges that queer children face with an inclusive focus on the intersectionality of marginalized pupils. We aim to help you to create and maintain an environment that is safe and supportive for all, addressing concerns such as bullying, emotional struggles, feeling ostracized and how to support children that are different to the majority and who may have some different needs.

We are here to listen to you and to answer your questions as staff and to address your concerns which better enables you to be there for the children through understanding and confident awareness.

TRAINING FOR PUPILS

We offer age-appropriate training to the pupils on diversity, particularly the queer community.

We educate on how to be a supportive friend and peer and to understand different people and different family structures.

We also give the children the opportunity to ask questions and share any concerns they may have and to share personal stories if comfortable.

The time spent with each age group is approximately an hour.

HELPING THE PARENTS

We run discussion groups for parents both in the schools as part of our School Training Program and externally.

Meeting with the parents at the school adds the value of understanding how the parents find the school environment with regards to handling diversity. We can then also give the school our feedback from the parents.

Parents have the opportunity to ask questions to deepen their understanding and to openly discuss any of their concerns.

Parent groups are arranged for after hours.
